Proceeds from the September 20-21, 2014 Pedal the Cause are available to members of the Salk, Moores and Sanford Burnham cancer centers San Diego NCI Cancer Centers Council or C3 to stimulate scientific collaboration, team science, and innovative translational research related to the prevention, diagnosis or treatment of cancer. Where relevant, proposed research projects should describe use of the C3 shared resources found on the C3 website at http//sdcancercouncil.org. Priority will be given to proposals that have a high likelihood of leading to extramural research funding, provide new approaches to important clinical or population/community challenges, or offer a clear route to a clinical trial.

2015 C3 TEAM SCIENCE AWARD The successful C3 Team, a multidisciplinary, multi-institutional, synergistic team of expert investigators, will develop a translational cancer research program that addresses translational issues in cancer. The C3 Team leadership Team Leader and Project Leaders must involve all C3 institutions and may include affiliated institutions e.g., JCVI, LIAI, SIO, Rady, SDSU. The project must be designed to accelerate the preventive, diagnostic or therapeutic interventions to the clinic. The ideas should be based on perceived opportunities for success as well as high-priority areas with a critical need for rapid progress beyond current medical care.
